A Job Well Done

Congratulations Freshmen!!!

The Freshmen boys started the season off yesterday with a great win over Pembroke High School! A couple of “Ryans” teamed up to score the 4 goals. Ryan Kelly started off the scoring early in the first half with a great shot from range to give the Panthers an early 1-0 lead. The rest of the script wrote it self with Ryan Silva scoring next to make it 2-0 showing great breakaway speed down the middle of the field. The flood gates opened up after Ryan Kelly stepped up and clinically finished a penalty shot and shortly after, once again, Ryan Silva (not to be outdone) scored a header off of a great sequence of play stemming from a throw-in. Great play also came from the goal keeper Jack Bannon who despite feeling ill put in a great performance in net. The game ended as a hard fought 4-2 victory for the Panthers. The future looks promising for the Whitman-Hanson boys soccer program. It was a great way to start the season boys but there’s still a lot of work to do. We will see you all on Monday, enjoy your weekend.

Special thanks to Tom Lombardo and Andrew Clemens for stepping in and doing a great job officiating. Your time and effort was very appreciated and it's great to see the program working together. Thanks guys.
