Freshmen vs Marshfield

Saturday was our last game of the season and it was away at Marshfield. We pretty much dominated the game. Nick Haley put us up 1-0 till the closing seconds of the 1st half, when Marshfield put in the tying goal. Again, we stayed calm and did not falter and with some creative dribbling by Jared Pendrak he slipped past the Marshfield defensive and sent a beautiful pass across the goal to Kevin Emery who buried it in the back of the net giving us back the lead 2-1. With less than 4 minutes in the game, an unlucky bounce gave Marshfield the tying goal. The game ended 2-2. Assists in the game came from Ross Bartlett, Matt Secatore and Jared Pendrak. This game was no different then any other game this season, the team stayed true to their goal this year and that was to play hard, play to win and have fun. I would say we accomplished our goal. The freshmen boys finished with an impressive 11-0-3 record. Going undefeated as freshmen will hopefully set the tone for how they intend to play the next few years as Whitman-Hanson Panthers. Their no quit attitude started with their Captains - Ross Bartlett, Kevin Emery, Ben Maines and Brian Malloy and continued through the rest of the team - Mike Coletti, James Cullity, Pat Duffy. Nick Haley, Parker Miner, Jack Molito, Matt Mossman, Jared Pendrek, Matt Secatore, Zack Taylor, Pat Tyler, Lucas Winnett and Joe Young.
Mr. Cole and I are so proud of this team.
