Freshmen beat Duxbury 9/16

I believe we were not mentally ready to play our game Monday against Duxbury. We were sluggish and playing a lot of kick ball. The only good passes were to a green shirt. I would have to say we played in panic mode. A PK by Tom McGahan and a late goal by Joshua Baker assisted by Bryce Pulkinen and Tommy McGahan put us ahead 2-0 in the 1st half.

The 2nd half we played a little better. We controlled most of the game and had a lot of scoring chances. But we still had moments were we went to sleep and allowed Duxbury to tie the game. We came right back with 2 goals from Conner Keane. Tom McGahan and Ian Duffy linked 2 good passes that sent Connor on a breakaway and Conner blasted it by the keeper. Connor 2nd goal came from 2 quick passes by Bryce Pulkinen and Tommy McGahan. Conner struck the ball so hard that if the keeper tried to catch it, the ball would have put him in the back of the net.

Final score Whitman-Hanson 4 Duxbury 2

I must ask the parents again to please stop coaching from the sidelines. The boys are getting mixed signals from what we are teaching them and what they are hearing.

Thank You

Coaches Mr. Healy and Mr. Cole
