Freshmen vs Norwell

Monday we had our 1st away game at Norwell.  The game ended with a 4-1 win for Whitman-Hanson.

Norwell struck early, but we tied the game a few minutes later with a goal from Bryce Pulkinen. The team played a lot of kick ball in the first half. The 2nd half we played a lot better moving the ball around with quick passes and using our fast break attack. We struck for 3 more goals, one from Jacob Drury and two more from Connor Keane. Center midfielder Tommy McGahan led the team with 3 assists. Joshua Baker and Caleb Lewis, also assisted on goals. Conner played well in net in the 1st half turning away a couple of well placed shots. Nate Mains had a shut-out in the 2nd half. Our defense did a good job in front of our keepers and bring the ball up.

This is a trying time for our freshmen.  I must ask the parents to refrain from coaching from the side lines. They are trying to play a new system from two old school coaches. They need to concentrate on what we are trying to teach and its gets confusing if they hear something different from the sidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

Mr. Healy and Mr. Cole
