The Whitman Hanson Boys Soccer Team won their 1st
game of the season today with a 4 – 0 win over Middleboro. The Panthers
opened the scoring 9 minutes into the 1st half on a goal by
sophomore Jared Pendrak with an assist by Brian McGahan. The Panthers
struck again at the 39th minute on a goal by Sophomore Brian McGahan
with an assist going to Jeff Govoni. At the 15th
minute of the second half, midfielder Antonio Centeio scored unassisted.
The final Panther goal came at the 20th minute by
Senior Captain Mike Auld with an assist going to Phil Walls.
The 1st shut out of the season was credited to Senior Goalie Chris Huyghe
and Senior Goalie Captain Jason Malloy and the defensive unit. Most players stepped up their game today and found the "it" we've been looking for. Now that we know what "it" is, we need to bring "it" to every game for 80 minutes.
The Panthers are traveling to Plymouth North tomorrow (Saturday) for a 2 pm Varsity Game. The Jv team will play at 12 noon. The bus for both teams will leave W-H at 11am.
