Varsity vs BR senior night

The Varsity Team once again stepped up their game for the last game of the season against BR.
This was senior night and we thank the parents for being here as we honored their son in their last high school soccer game.  We wish to Thank BR for allowing us a special  ceremonial kick off for senior Will Roache.  Will has been on the sideline most of the season with a concussion and we felt this was an appropriate way to honor him for his hard work these past 4 years.
The game was a great battle with both teams having scoring opportunities.  Senior Goalkeeper Captain Jason Malloy played a strong 1st half in net and made some key saves, even with an injured ankle, to ensure a 0 - 0 tie at halftime.  BR managed to put one in the goal at the 28th minute but the Panthers refused to give up.  Strong pressure on BR forced them to foul Nick Haley in the penalty area.  Senior Captian Mike Auld scored the PK in the 38th minute.  It was a tense final 2 minutes of play with BR having 2 big chances to score.  Senior goalkeeper Chris Huyghe, who took over in the goal in the 2nd half, made some impressive saves to maintain the 1-1 tie.  A fantastic final game for the Panthers (BR beat WH 5-1 on Tues.).  Thank you to the younger players that worked hard the entire game to ensure a good result for the seniors.

Thank you to the 9 Seniors playing their last High School Game:
Captain Stephen Stephansky, Captain Mike Auld, Captain Jason Malloy, Chris Huyghe, Jake Winnett, Phillip Walls, Will Roache, Matt Paru, and Thibaut Jacobs.

A final thank you to the Senior Parents who put on a nice tailgate for the entire team after the game.  This tradition provide the players and parents a final get together after our last game of the season.
It is truly special for a great group of players.
