JV Boys lost a tough game to Pembroke 2 - 1 in the rain Tuesday night. A game well played. The Panthers, down by 2 goals in the 1st half had many scoring opportunities, including a goal called back on a questionable offsides decision. Jason Malloy got one back for the Panthers late in the half, scoring with an assist by Jake Winnett.
In the 2nd half, the Panthers had many opportunities to tie it up. Weather made the ball and the turf slick, we missed many opportunities by inches... Also in the 2nd half the defense of Tom Lombardo (GK), Dan Gould, Alex Miner, and Dan Bonitatubus clamped down on the Pembroke squad allowing no goals in the half.
The team front to back played well. Brian Sheppard, as well as playing a strong outside mid position, was motivating to his teammates and was a team player.
Special thanks to Alex's Mom for making a pizza run.
Tough week ahead: Duxbury on Thursday, Silver Lake Friday, and BR on Saturday. Get your rest, take your vitamins.....
